Ibiza's sunset is a change of atmosphere: the bright blue softens, the coast becomes a silhouette and conversations slow down. Choose a place for the evening you want, not just the photograph.
San Antonio's waterfront
A waterfront walk offers a social way to watch the changing sky. If you choose a bar or restaurant, check reservations and spending conditions. Public viewpoints and a booked table create different kinds of evening.
Platges de Comte
The west-coast views towards offshore islands make this a favourite sunset coastline. Arrive early enough to find a permitted place to settle, and leave the beach as clean as you found it.
Cala d'Hort and Es Vedrà
The silhouette gives the light a dramatic focal point. The exact position of the setting sun varies with season, so avoid planning around an old photograph. Stay on safe, permitted access routes.
A quieter coastline
Cap Negret, Cala Saladeta and other west-facing places can offer different perspectives. Quiet is never guaranteed at a popular spot, especially in summer. Check transport and the route home before dark.
A sunset at sea
A sailing gives the horizon a different scale. Check the current calendar: a sunset-themed photograph or archived story does not mean a Sunset Boat Party is currently bookable. Choose an available departure and read its return time.
Before you go
- Check the sunset time for your date.
- Take a light layer and plan your return.
- Keep cliff edges and protected land out of your photo plans.
